This interactive workshop will explore how we can construct appropriate methods of assessment for a variety of learning outcomes. For example, are essays still a useful means of assessment and for what purpose? What is the role of technology in assessment? What are the difficulties and pitfalls with different methods of assessment and how might we avoid them? What kinds of assessments promote student engagement with learning? The workshop will use both presentations, colleagues' experience and a dialogic approach to explore these issues.
